Pattern: Simplicity 5582

The bodice is royal purple broadcloth with double fold bias tape binding.  It laces through silver toned  eyelets with a braided purple, white and silver grossgrain ribbon tie. Bodice is boned along the eyelets for support.

The overskirt is constructed from the same royal purple broadcloth.

The skirt and chemise are made from lightweight bleached muslin.  The chemise is trimmed in delicate daisy pattern lace along the neck and sleeves.  The sleeves are 3/4 length.

The gown was worn by a bride’s maid in a Renaissance themed wedding in August. The gown itself was light weight and the maiden almost fairy like, the perfect combination.  My hope is that she didn’t upstage the bride too much. I’m kidding of course.  It is a beautiful gown on a beautiful maiden.
